School Activities

Youth Conservation Day is an outdoor learning day for Crawford County students.  Held in late September at Sugar Creek Bible Camp, area schools bring their 5th, 6th, or 7th grade students to this fun-filled day.  Presentations cover a wide array of topics, such as Forestry, Stream Life, Soils, Fisheries, Wildlife, and Contour Strip Cropping.  Presentations are led by partners such as the WI DNR, NRCS, SW Badger RC&D, and USFWS.

Speaking & Poster Contest

The Conservation Speaking and Poster Contest is held each year.  Participating schools can have students present posters or speeches that follow the guidelines set forth by the National Association of Conservation Districts, and managed at the Wisconsin level by Wisconsin Land and Water.  There are 5 age divisions for the poster contest and 3 divisions for the speaking contest.  Please contact the Land Conservation Department if you are interested.  Contest are held in the beginning of the year.
