Crawford County Programs

  • Car Seat Safety Checks
    1.  Crawford County Health Department car seat safety check provides an opportunity to ensure that your child's car seat is properly installed, correctly fitted, and in good condition, all of which are essential for protecting your child in the event of a car crash. 
  • Oral Health Services - Early Childhood Cavity Prevention/Fluoride Varnish Program
    1. Crawford County Public Health offers an Early Childhood Cavity Prevention Program to children through age six.  This program includes oral health screening, education, fluoride varnish application, and referral for any necessary dental problems.
  • Parenting Education and Classes
    1. Parenting doesn’t come with a handbook, but you can find valuable insight and support through parenting education and classes offered by UW Extension offices.
  • Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program
    1. The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) helps families stay healthy by providing, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, healthy foods, referrals to health services and other resources. WIC serves those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum, as well as infants and children up to age five. Foster parents and relatives may also apply on behalf of an infant or child in their care.
  • Mental Health Support
    1. Online mental health resources at your fingertips. Explore articles, vetted videos, local support and providers, and resources tailored to your needs.  
  • Birth to 3 Program
    1. The Wisconsin Birth to 3 Program is an early intervention special education program. It helps children under the age of 3 who have delays or disabilities.
  • Vision Screening Program
    1. Crawford County Health Department offers vision screening, schedule an appointment at 608-326-0229
  • Well Water Testing
    1. Crawford County Health Department provides free well water test kits for pregnant mothers and mothers who have children under 6 months old. Infants can be more severely affected by water quality issues.

  • Postpartum Support
    1. For free, confidential support before, during, or after pregnancy, call or text the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 833-TLC-MAMA (833-852-6262)
  • Immunization Schedule
    1. Stay on track with your child’s vaccines by following the recommended immunization schedules.
  • Complete Child/Daycare List
    1. Search for lists of infant care, childcare, head start programs, and much more.
  • Personalized Child Care List
    1. Provides parents with childcare options, classes, training, playdates, & diaper banks  
  • Developmental Milestone Check List
    1. Developmental milestones are things most children (75% or more) can do by a certain age.
  • Wisconsin Well Badgers Resource Center
    1. The Well Badger Resource Center is Wisconsin’s health information and referral service, connecting you to the social, health, and government programs available in your community. First Step Hotline (800) 642-7837
  • Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation (WWHF)
    1. WWHG services and research initiatives are rooted in evidence-based prevention. Focused on disease and conditions with the greatest impact on Wisconsin women’s wellness. These programs are free and accessible to anyone who needs them. 
  • Wisconsin Well Women Program
    1. The Wisconsin Well Woman Program helps women who have little, or no health insurance get screening for breast and cervical cancers.
  • Wisconsin Wayfinder
    1. Wisconsin Wayfinder supports families of children with delays, disabilities, special health care needs, and mental health conditions. Call (877) WiscWay or (877) 947-2929
  • First Breath (Quit Smoking) 
    1. First Breath’s goals are to connect people with accurate and judgment-free information about tobacco and other substance use during pregnancy, breastfeeding and caregiving. 
  • My Baby & Me (Quit Alcohol)
    1. Wisconsin’s free program to help people make positive changes to their tobacco, alcohol and substance use during pregnancy & beyond!

Economic Support Programs

Economic support programs are intended to assist people who are unemployed, disabled, have low income, or experiencing other economic hardship.  The goal of the Economic Support staff is to assist individuals and families in obtaining benefits with the outcomes of self-sufficiency and enhanced well-being.

Thursday: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
